It is owned and run by Thirumala Dewaswom Corporate Educational Agency,Kochi. The institute was established in 1963 as a linguistic minority institution to train teachers for primary schools. It is affiliated to Government of Kerala. It was recognised by NCTE in 2000-2001. The institution has spacious classrooms, Science,Psycologyand Computerr laboratory, Seminar hall, Library, Work Experience and Activity room to meet the requirement of D.El.Ed course
